Rose-Marie Lodge is an accessible chalet bungalow in the seaside town of Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, available to hire for short breaks and long-term stays.
The Lodge has been adapted to ensure it is accessible for a range of needs, because we believe everyone should be able to enjoy a holiday to the seaside!

Accessibility
We have a range of equipment available to use, including profiling bed, tracked ceiling hoist from bedroom to en suite wetroom, shower bed, shower tilting chair, shower stool, komode, mobile hoist, EasyGo chair and rising/recliner chair. We have level and ramp access throughout the downstairs and widened doorways to suit wheelchairs.
Relax
We designed our living space to be open, bright and inviting. With an open plan kitchen, dining room and living area you can relax and unwind. When the sun is out, the patio doors open fully onto a same-level patio and enclosed garden - perfect for enjoying the sunshine!

Great big house with big garden. All the rooms were comfortable and welcoming. Everything we wanted was in the house and if it wasn’t the owner did his best to make sure we got it. We stayed in a lot partly because my mum is infirm but also the house is really lovely to be in. Not too far for a trip to the sea also. Supermarket and other shops are a couple of minutes walk. Being here was a chance to really decompress. Thank you Gary and Debbie for creating a really lovely home away from home.

A great stay! It was bright and spacious with all the equipment we needed for our family’s disability needs. Nice big parking space with plenty of room for unloading from a WAV. Great outside patio overlooking garden, plenty of room for wheelchairs. The owner was so nice and very helpful. Plenty of facilities in the area if you want to eat out or get a takeaway! Very short drive to the seafront.

Clacton-on-Sea beachfront
Just a 5 minute drive away, you'll find Clacton-on-Sea seafront. Take a stroll down the front, grab and ice cream or play on the arcades.
Frinton-on-Sea
We recommend a visit to the neighbouring seaside town Frinton-on-Sea, which is a 15-minute drive away. This quaint town has an old school seaside feel, with a large green leading to the beach. Take a wander around the local shops and soak up the atmosphere.
Colchester
Just a 30 minute drive away is the historic town of Colchester. Not only is Colchester great for shopping and restaurants, but is home to Colchester Castle and Colchester Zoo - both of which have great accessibility.
